![]() What's worse, though he is cold and reptilian, Xizor has a certain predatory charisma that not even Leia can totally resist. Yet the fierce battle that ensues to rescue Han will not go according to plan. Skywalker organizes a crack fighting force, including Wedge Antilles and his famous X-wing squadron Lando Calrissian and the mercenary Dash Rendar. She enlists the aid of Luke, who is sharpening his skill in the Force at Ben Kenobi's home on the edge of Tatooine's Western Dune Sea. Mourning the loss of the man she loves, Princess Leia mounts a rescue mission to free Han. While Vader and Xizor bait their trap for Luke, Han Solo is being held captive, flash-frozen in a carbonite slab. But in the meantime he will join the Dark Lord in an unholy alliance whose common target is the young Rebel hero, Luke Skywalker. To do so, he will hatch a brilliantly evil plan to discredit Vader in the Emperor's eyes. He seeks to displace Darth Vader as Emperor Palpatine's right hand. His name is Xizor, Underlord of a galaxywide criminal organization called Black Sun. Whether you’re hoping to bask in Original Trilogy characters or go on an all-new adventure with a creatively crafted character (armed to the teeth, of course), one thing’s for sure: you’re in for a wild ride. Bounty hunters from the Clone Wars era get some love as well-young Boba’s coalition makes a comeback in Dark Disciple, Embo teams up with Aftermath’s Jas Emari a time or two, and Aura Sing earns her notorious reputation before we hear of her demise in Solo. Chase down Han Solo with Zuckuss and 4-LOM. His compatriots from Episode V make interesting appearances as well. Boba Fett gets considerable attention in publishing, especially considering the longevity of the development of his character post- Return of the Jedi in Legends continuity. In this collection you’ll find stories of bounty hunters infamous and anonymous, the most notorious to some very niche characters recently added to the canon, spanning the timeline from Attack of the Clones to the Aftermath trilogy. The bounty hunters represent an exciting element of Star Wars-not Empire, Rebellion, Sith, or Jedi-somewhere out on the fringes where credits are king. When we first glimpsed Vader’s bridge of assorted villainous characters in The Empire Strikes Back, it was as if Lucas was signaling to us that the possibilities were endless when it came to the design and origin of the galaxy’s less scrupulous mercenaries.Since then, the Expanded Universe has run wild with telling tales of escapades of betrayal and high-stakes heists. Not to mention the weapons, costumes, and jet packs! Everyone loves a good bounty hunter. Until then, I’ll have my fingers crossed.Ruthless determination. Here’s hoping that Aspyr sees this piece and maybe gives some clarity on whether we can expect to jump back into Jango’s boots and become the father of the clone army yet again. But with no murmurs or signals being thrown around, it’s hard not to be a little anxious to finally hear something. I honestly feel that with the releases of many old SW games on new hardware lately, Bounty Hunter shouldn’t be far behind. This is a title that really needs to stretch its arms and fully sprint again. Xbox, Switch, and even PC are still without Jango’s presence and it’s pretty blasphemous, to put it lightly. My one complaint about the re-release though is that it never made its way onto any other gaming platforms. And while I’d honestly have loved to see the game be given even more love with a full remake, launching it on new hardware to preserve the game at all is a reward. The game had been treated to a sort of re-release on the PS4 back in 2015 with the launch of EA’s Star Wars Battlefront (2015), giving a new generation the chance to play the game with some slight remastered aspects. Who doesn’t want to chase bounties down around the strips of Coruscant? Its enemies were iconic and even its various locations were just so awesome to traverse. The gameplay wasn’t shabby either, as it felt truly unique to itself with fun gadgets that Jango used in the film as well as some platforming segments that are still unforgettable to this day. It was a game that featured a unique story that managed to give depth to the father of the Republic clone army, as well as tie in exactly what Count Dooku was up to going into Star Wars: Attack of the Clones. With the brand new series The Book of Boba Fett debuting on Disney+ today, it has me thinking about one of my favorites to play, Star Wars: Bounty Hunter.īeing able to take on the mantle of one of the galaxy’s best and baddest bounty hunters, Jango Fett, was a dream come true. Between the Rogue Squadrons, Battlefronts, and Lego games, I was a very happy kid, to say the least. Back in my youth, Star Wars games were more than plentiful.
